Date

Date is a 48-word version of a dating reality show game in development. It combines TTRPG and LARP. Made for the 48-word RPG jam.

Your characters have ended up on a date. On TV. Are they able to connect despite the cameras? What are their motives for being on the show? Is there a reason they haven’t yet found love? And wait a minute – their date is kinda hot.

The game mechanics in Date include physical touch. Play with someone you feel comfortable playing with. Play with someone you don’t feel comfortable playing with, but would like to.

The creators’ motives are that people should hug more, that in-character love stories can't be too intense, and that reality dating shows are fun but also surprisingly deep.

Safety

• All potential touching is based on verbal consent. Always ask before touching, and wait for an answer. A subtle way to end an action is saying “thank you.”
• Discuss shared boundaries before playing.
• Debrief properly afterward; hug or shake hands out of character.
